HoverDR1 - UTDesign

HoverDR1 is a learning module and platform designed to breathe new life into old hoverboards, allowing children to learn fundamental principles of engineering, coding, and audio frequencies while having fun with their old toys. Designed on the Arduino Platform, our module allows users of all ages and skill levels to add audio based commands to their hoverboards. In doing so, students gain experience and learn the fundamentals of programming and engineering. For those who are more familiar with engineering concepts, the module allows them to create their own custom reactions for the hoverboards they already own using audio cues. Due to the modular nature of our solution, it can fit on nearly all hoverboard models, and is mounted externally to prevent voiding device warranties.

Key Competencies: C++, Arduino Uno, Fast Fourier Transform, CAD Modeling, Java, Android Studio

Baby Away! - PLTW

Baby Away is a system designed to keep children safe while not restricting them from having freedom of movement. The solution contains two parts: a infrared powered silicone wristband that the child wears, and mounted detection modules that will alert parents when children pass by a key area (doorways, hallways, pool entrances, etc.)

Key Competencies: C++, Arduino Uno, Infrared signals, CAD Modeling
